Wunderman UK have devised a charity called Bloody Good Period (BGP) dedicated to ‘ending period poverty’ by supplying menstrual protection products to those who can least afford them. In light of the upcoming holidays, they have started a campaign by wishing everyone a ‘Merry Bloody Christmas’ to help raise awareness of the issue.

Huffpost has published a blog style article which addresses the taboo of periods and why people are still embarrassed talking about them. The article notes that the recent discussions on the tampon tax are a step in the right direction to breaking the ongoing taboo, and also touches on conditions which can cause heavy periods such as Endometriosis and PCOS.
