My periods were so heavy I couldn’t leave the house – so I created an alternative to tampons.

Aged just 26, Paige used to dread her time of the month, and sometimes her heavy flow and painful cramps meant she was unable to leave the house so she has created her own period underwear.

Speaking to Mirror Online, she said: “I became increasingly frustrated with my heavy periods, and not having access to any alternative period products.

She decided to create an alternative to the traditional products that would not only help women with a heavy flow, but also be better for the environment.

It’s great to see heavy periods being discussed openly in mainstream media and the cost of sanitary products for women with heavy periods is clearly an issue, however the article fails to point out that heavy periods are a treatable medical condition and that it’s important to visit your GP if you’re suffering.
